Questions/Concerns about Student Grades & Class Performance
Throughout the school year, as you check your child's grades in Skyward and ask them questions about their assignments and behavior - you may have more questions or concerns that need addressed.
First, we encourage you to speak directly to the specific teacher of the class that you have concerns/questions about. This allows your questions to be answered more thoroughly and timely. If after you've talked with the teacher(s) and still have concerns, please address them with Mr. Frint (7th Grade Counselor) or Mrs. Lundgren (7th Grade Assistant Principal) at that time. Below are 7th Grade core teachers' contact information.
Student Grades Coming Home each Friday
Please check that you are receiving weekly emails from your child on Friday mornings. The email will consist of your child's grades and missing work for their classes.
If you have not been receiving these emails, please be sure that your 7th grader knows your email and/or is using the correct one. We hope this information is helpful to you on a routine basis to stay caught up on their grades and any missing assignments.
Opportunities for Students & Families
Snowman Shuffle
JCMS will be hosting the 2019 Snowman Shuffle Vendor Fair / Pancake Feed in conjunction with the JCMS Parent Support Team 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Registration to sign up for a booth to sell your side gig product is open. ALL PROCEEDS from the Vender fair and pancake feed support the Renaissance program (incentives, end of year field trip, Night of the Stars).
Recent Activity in the Hallways & Math Classrooms
As I was walking the 7th grade hallways last week, I noticed groups of students measuring, drawing, questioning each other, and having fun.
Their latest math project tasked them to make a human-sized Action Figure or Barbie Doll by first taking the original doll measurements and using scale factor to enlarge it on paper. Here is some of their work - I was impressed!
