Leader in Me - Parent Survey

As a Leader in Me Lighthouse school we are always working to understand how we can improve. Please complete the survey below as part of an annual assessment to help all members of the school community (students, parents, and the adults who work at the school) understand how we're doing. Your responses will provide us with important information to help us become even better. All of your responses are completely anonymous. The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please try to respond to all items. Thank you!

Teacher Appreciation Week Update

This is the week to show our Silver Springs teachers and staff how FIN-TASTIC they are to us and our school! Please follow the schedule and be sure to include your class “adoptees”!

We still need some classroom supplies for our Treasure Chest of Teacher Supply Buffet Day. This is a new idea that lets the teachers “shop” for classroom supplies. Please have items in by Tuesday, May 7th.

Thank you so much for all the amazing families who have donated items and gift cards. You are FIN-TASTIC too!

Give A Shout Out to a FIN-TASTIC Silver Springs Teacher or Staff Member

Example: Mrs. Booth is FIN-TASTIC because she helps make Silver Springs great by being a leader!

Write your FIN-TASTIC shout out a piece of paper with your name and teacher on it. Turn it into the office to maybe get a chance to read it on the morning announcements.

2019/2020 School Supply Kit Ordering Time!

We are into the 4th quarter of the school year now so ready or not, it's time to plan for next year!

The Northville Council of PTA's, in coordination with Silver Springs PTA, is again offering the Edukit School Supply Kit fundraiser. The lists have been developed by each of the grades as recommended supplies for your student. This fundraiser is completely optional and is only being offered as a convenient way to get all your supplies, as the Northville Public Schools provides the necessary supplies and materials for your child's successful school experience. If ordered by June 14th, the kits will be shipped directly (for free) to the school. After June 15th, kits will be shipped directly to your home for a nominal fee. Please contact Laurie Techko (lev1972@yahoo.com) with any questions.

Under The Sea – Daddy Daughter Dance Update

This is the last week to turn in the DDD forms as we need to have our numbers to be prepared. The prices have increased so please read carefully for the correct amount. A sign-up genius notice will be sent out soon for donations to help make this an enchanted evening under the sea.

Anyone Still Want to Purchase A Kindness Matters T – Shirt?

We have been informed that we need a minimum order of 18 t shirts for youth and adults. We are just a few short with youth and need 16 more adults to order. We will order the youth shirts, but might have to wait until next year for the adults to get more orders. Students and staff will wear shirts next year on certain days to promote KINDNESS!

If you want to order a t shirt, ALL order forms need to be turned into the office by Tuesday am.

Join us for the Silver Springs PTA's Breakfast With A Buddy - Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th

This is a free event put on by the PTA that the students really enjoy. It's a great way to bring our families together and to show appreciation to all the 'buddies' who support Silver Springs students. We are in need of volunteers to contribute food items and we will also need several volunteers to work at the event.

Look for RSVP forms in the next Monday Envelope. Families with the last name starting A-L will come on Thursday, and families with the last name starting M-Z will come on Friday.

Any contribution or donation of time is truly appreciated!

Please visit the Sign-Up Genius by clicking the following link: Breakfast with a Buddy 2019

Save the date!

Field day will be Thursday, May 30th in the afternoon (rain date Friday, May 31). We need many volunteers. Please think about volunteering to make this FUN day memorable for your child. A sign up genius link with more information will be coming soon.

Thank you in advance!

Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!

7-Habits Take Home Activity for April

This month’s Habit: Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw

Due Date: May 31, 2019

Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw

What this means: Balance feels best. In order to maintain and increase effectiveness, we must renew ourselves in body, mind, heart and soul.

“I take care of my body by eating right, exercising, and getting sleep.”

“I find meaningful ways to help others.”

“I spend time with family and friends.”

“I learn in lots of ways and places, not just at school.”

How can I do this in my life?

1. Go for a walk.

2. Read a book.

3. Volunteer in your community.

4. Value the difference in others.
