Here's What's on Top at Buena Vista - May 17, 2023
Note from the Principal
Greetings Buena Vista Parents,
Just seven more days of school, but there is still a lot going on. Tomorrow we have our TK/Kindergarten ice cream social for our incoming 23-24 students. This will take place on the kindergarten playground from 2:15-3:30. This is for incoming students and parents. Our PTA is hosting.
We also have the return of our BV Science Fair. A big thank you to Mrs. Bockser who took the lead on this so that we could bring back this amazing tradition. Students who turned in their application, should bring their display boards to the MUR tomorrow morning. Parents and families are invited to come and view all of our science displays from 5:30-7:00 tomorrow night.
Please make sure that if your child has a missing personal item, that you swing by and check out our lost and found. It is overflowing here, and after the last day of school we will begin donating left over items.
A Note for 5th grade parents
We will be holding your child's promotion ceremony on Friday, May 26th at 10:30am. It will be located on the back lawn next to room 49. Please note that this event is a "bring your own seating" event to ensure we can accommodate everyone. Please bring your soccer/camping chairs or blankets as needed for your group. We are so excited to celebrate the successes of this 5th grade class.
Summer Learning -
Students will continue to have access to their digital programs over summer via Clever.
WE’RE BETTER WHEN WE’RE TOGETHER
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school - and themselves. Start building this habit so they learn that going to school on time every day is important. Eventually, good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school and college.
Last Day of School Lunch -
The last day of school, May 26 is a shortened day and lunch will be grab & go! Please order your lunch in advance by clicking here!
It's a Great Day to be a Bulldog!
Respectfully,
Angela Gramlick
Principal
Chances are that you know someone who is struggling with their mental health. People experiencing mental health challenges aren’t broken — they need support and care. And that begins with a conversation.
This month we have an opportunity to break the stigma around mental health by talking openly, compassionately, and kindly to each other. No one should ever struggle alone.
If you want to quickly be connected to a mental health care provider, contact Care Solace, a complimentary and confidential mental health care coordination service provided by Walnut Creek School District:
Call 888-515-0595. Multilingual support is available 24/7/365.
Visit www.caresolace.com/wcsd and either search on your own OR click “Book Appointment” for assistance by video chat, email, or phone.
Don’t hesitate to ask for help, use the resources around you, and never give up hope.

Be on the lookout for ASE sign ups at the beginning of the school year. Due to promotions, we are also looking for two new volunteer ASE Enrichment Coordinators for our upcoming year.
