Dear Families,

On behalf of the staff at Vista Academy, We are happy to welcome you to the Bulldog family! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

This newsletter should be used as a guide in regard to enrollment for your child. We will outline next steps as well as provide you with more information about our amazing school and staff members.

If your child is a current VUSD student, currently enrolled at another VUSD school, you only need to complete the Participation Agreement linked below, and we will pull your child's records over to Vista Academy through our VUSD Aeries database.

Welcome to this edition of our school-wide newsletter through S'More. During the school year, we send weekly updates to all families to keep you in the loop about upcoming events and dates, specific school information, and community resources. We call this our "Bulldog News".

All families will receive our weekly Bulldog News beginning the first week of school. Additional special newsletter may be sent as needed. Vista Unified School District also send Community Updates via S'More periodically, visit our districts website at: vistausd.org

New Student Registration

Step 1: Please visit: https://ereg.vistausd.org

- Click on enroll a new student

- Select school year (2023-2024, pre enrolled)

- If you have previously used this website to enroll a student for this district, you may login as an existing user. If this is your first time, please create a new account.

Step 2: Enter your student name and home address

*Based on the information provided, you will receive an email message indicating you are eligible to enroll at your assigned school based on your address. Please proceed with your registration. This will not affect being accepted to Vista Academy.

Step 3: If you created a new account, it will need to be verified. Please check your email and follow the instructions to finish enrollment.

Step 4: After you finish and submit your registration, you will receive an enrollment confirmation.

Step 5: Bring in identification, immunization records, birth verification (certificate or passport) and proof of residency (SDG&E bill, cable bill, or pay stub) to the school office from May 8- May 11.

Step 6: Complete the Participation Agreement

*Important Note: During the online registration process, you will be asked to enter your home address which will prompt your home school based on your address, please continue the process with the home school automatically populated. Vista Academy is not a home school due to our Magnet Program.

Families who reside outside of VUSD boundaries please click on the "Outside VUSD Boundaries" button below to access the registration packet or stop by the front office to pick up a registration packet. All Outside VUSD students will also need to complete the Inter-District Transfer Process as soon as possible. You will also want to plan on attending one of the registration dates listed below and bring the required documentation listed on the enrollment checklist below.

____ Aeries AIR online registration. Completed here: https://ereg.vistausd.org/default.aspx. When prompted you will need to upload documents: (Proof of residency, Birth Certificate or Passport, Immunization record, Parent/guardian photo ID)

**Items to bring with you in case you were not able to upload:

____ Proof of Residency or Declaration of Residency (Rental agreement, Mortgage Statement, Property tax, Utility Service, Paystub, Voter Registration, Government Agency Correspondence, Declaration of

Residency)

____ If applicable please bring copies of IEP or 504 plan

____ Parent government issued ID

*Student must turn 5 on or before September 1, 2018
