Parents and students in grades Kindergarten - 4th Grade,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Curriculum Night. It was nice seeing everyone as they walked the halls and visited classrooms.

UPCOMING EVENTS/IMPORTANT DATES
Monday, September 26th: Graves After School Clubs start (for students who registered)
Friday, September 30th: Spirit Day Fundraiser (see flyer for more information)
Thursday, October 6: Progress reports will will be sent home with students.
Monday, October 10: No School - Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day
After School
After School Clubs will be starting on Monday for those students who registered.
If you have any questions regarding clubs please email Rosa Serna at rserna@sd104.us or call the front office. 1st and 2nd Grade will dismiss via Door #2 and 3rd and 4th Grade will dismiss via Door #3.

Social Worker Corner
What does a School Social Worker do?
- Increase academic success

They work with Special Education to...
- Prepare social developmental histories on children
- Provided therapeutic services related to Individualized Education Plans
- Provide group and individual counseling to children
- Work with children to help issues that affect adjustment in school

Please remember that it is important for students to arrive to school on time.
If your child is TARDY please go with your child to door #14 to sign a tardy slip.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
Entrance 7:50a.m.Dismissal 2:50p.m.
Wednesdays (Late Start)
Entrance 8:50a.m.

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade: Door #2

For student safety, no students should be outside on the school grounds before
7:30AM (M,T,TH,F) 8:30AM (W)

Truancy
D104 Action Plan for Truancy:
The distract has a truancy intervention plan in place which will be implemented via social worker and administrators after a student starts being truant. For example, truancy letter sent home, student and parent meeting, and more. For more information, please look over our districts handbook.
Breakfast
Breakfast will be available every morning for students who wish to come in and eat before school starts. Door #7
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays starting 7:30a.m.-7:45a.m.
Wednesdays 8:30a.m.-8:45a.m.
Please make sure to be on time so students have plenty of time to eat their breakfast since they have to be in the classroom by 7:50a.m.(M, T, TH, F) and 8:50a.m. (Wednesdays)

Handwashing, Handwashing, Handwashing, all the time and hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
Cover your nose and mouth with the inside of your elbow when coughing and sneezing. If you sneeze or cough in your hands…. Handwash or use sanitizer immediately after!
Stay home if you are sick! Please do not make everyone else sick.
Covid home test kits will continue to be given to students sent home with covid symptoms.
Staff and community PCR testing via doctor will be offered on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30in the teacher's lounge at HMS/Graves

Treats & Snacks Policy
We ask that parents do not send in birthday treats for students to distribute. Please read below, as taken from the 2022-2023 District 104 Handbook:
Treats & Snacks [K-5] 1.80 Due to health concerns and scheduling, no birthday treats are allowed. Treats will be limited to certain school-wide celebrations.
