Band Competes At SIUE Percussion Event

The band kicked off their season on Saturday as they traveled to Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville to compete in a percussion event. The event was a "comment and critique" festival which provided great feedback for our drumline as they enter into the competition season. Softball & Soccer Compete In Jamborees

Softball hosted their annual jamboree on Friday with Lafayette, Lindbergh and Union High Schools. Our ladies of fall looked impressive in their three scrimmages. The Softball program will open the season in the CorJesu Tournament this coming weekend at Kirkwood Athletic Association. Good luck ladies!

The Boys Soccer program traveled to Summit on Saturday morning to compete in a tough jamboree in preparation for the season. The Vikings turned in a strong performance in three scrimmages. Be sure to check out our soccer program this season. You can find their schedule by visiting

Howell Football Hosts Jamboree, Huge Crowd Supports Vikings

This past Friday the Howell Football program hosted their annual jamboree with CBC, Ladue and McCluer North high schools. Viking fans packed the stands for another impressive showing of support for our Howell Family. As you can see from the picture below, if last Friday night is any indication of what is to come, the Vikings are going to see record crowds this fall! Below you can view several video highlights from the evening. Thank you to all of our Viking fans and especially our student section for making it such a great night at The H! We look forward to seeing all Viking fans and our "Future Vikings" this Friday night for the football home opener.

$1,150 & 500 Cans Donated at Football Jamboree For Oasis Food Pantry

One of the trademarks of Howell activities and sports is their involvment in the community and desire to give back. This past Friday the Howell Football program hosted their jamboree. The event was utilized as an opportunity to give back to the local Oasis Food Pantry. Fans brought canned goods and donated money to the organization. This year $1,150 and 500 canned goods were raised. Thank you to all fans that attended the jamboree on Friday night and contributed to the great outpouring of support for the Oasis Food Pantry.

Volleyball To Host Jamboree On August 27th

Viking fans will get their first opportunity to see first year head coach Danielle Rygelski and her Lady Vikings on August 27th at 5:00 p.m. as they host a four team jamboree at Howell in preperation for the 2019 season. We hope Viking fans take this opportunity to come out and support the volleyball program which is coming off of a strong State Quarterfinal run last season. Clemons Competes With Missouri Disabled Water Ski Association

Congratulations to Howell student-athlete Brooke Clemons who recently began competitive water skiing with the MDWSA. Each year the MDWSA hosts events in the area, with the biggest event being at the end of July at Creve Couer Lake. Brooke recently competed in the even and has been waterskiing since she was 8 years old. She just recently started to work on a competitive level ski. Congrats Brooke and good luck!

Home Football Opener & Future Viking Night This Friday

The Howell Family and community are anxiously awaiting the beginning of "Friday Night Lights" to kick off! Those that attend Howell Football games know that the events are about much more than just football, band, cheer and dance. The nights are about being with your Howell Family and supporting Howell and our community. On Friday, August 30th Howell will be hosting its football home opener which will also serve as "Future Viking Night." Students in all Howell feeder schools as well as students at FHHS will be able to attend the game for free with the flyer that has been supplied below. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the music of Howell's favorite DJ, Manny in front of the stadium beginning at 4:30 p.m. A special entrance to the field and recognition of our future Vikings will highlight the night. We hope to see another packed house with our Viking Family next Friday as we begin the 2019 season!

Howell Alums Reckis & Losch Earn Spots In Collegiate Bands

Our Howell alums continue to do great things at the college level. Recently two Howell Band alums earned spots in their respective college bands. Congratulations Jeffrey Reckis who earned the “lead trumpet” position with the Band of Blue at Middle Tennessee State University. Also, a big congratulations to Anthony Losch who earned a spot on the cymbal line with the All American Marching Band at Purdue University. Congratulations to Jeffrey and Anthony and good luck this season!

Howell Alum Sutton Smith Named To CFB Hall of Fame All Decade Team

Congratulations to Howell alum Sutton Smith on being selected as a member on the College Football Hall of Fame All-Decade Team. The announcement was made over the weekend by the College Football Hall of Fame. Sutton was a standout at Howell that went on to star at Northern Illinois University and is currently in camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2019-20 School Year Start Dates & Dead Periods Announced For MSHSAA Activities & Sports

The summer, fall, winter, and spring dead periods and starting dates for MSHSAA sponsored activities has been released for the 2019-20 school year. These dates can be found below. We hope that this information helps all Vikings and their families coordinate and prepare for the summer and sports seasons ahead during the 2019-20 school year.
