More ways to keep things going during independent reading time-
- Create accountability through conferring. It is a time to gather information to help your students grow as readers.
- Use a catch to refocus the group. This is a good time for a mid-teach point during the heart of your workshop. You can use this time to address what they need to do or think about to move forward. This can provide a renewed purpose for their IR.
- Invite students to reflect on & share their learning. This will give children a sense of ownership for their learning.
ESL Vocabulary Accommodations For Math & Science-NEW!
ESL teachers have created ESL Vocabulary Accommodations to support students with CBAs in math and science. This resource will continue to be added to throughout the year.
