KIDS AT HOPE PLEDGE

I am a Kid at Hope!

I am talented, smart, and capable of success.

I have dreams for the future, and I will climb to reach those goals and dreams every day.

All kids are capable of success, no exceptions!

TREASURE HUNTER PLEDGE

As an adult and a Treasure Hunter, I am committed to search for all the talents, skills and intelligence that exist in all children and youth. I believe that all children are capable of success, no exceptions!

Our second graders in Mrs. Giovannini's, Mrs. Johnson's, and Ms. Sandness' classes are leading the way in showing us how to be thankful this month. Gratitude grows hope!

Kids at Hope Week: 11/7 to 11/11

Welcome to a week-long celebration of being Kids at Hope! Each day this week will be focused on one of the four time travel destinations we visit when planning our future. The flyer below highlights the focus of each day with special activities. We kicked off Kids at Hope Week with a fabulous turn out at our family breakfast on Monday morning and a spirited schoolwide Kids at Hope Pledge in the courtyard. Monthly Focus: Kids at Hope Month

Every November, we celebrate being Kids at Hope! It is the perfect time to reflect on how each of us grows hope in ourselves and those around us every day.

More and more research is confirming the importance of hope in one's experience with success and satisfaction in life. Hope is a skill that can be taught, learned, and strengthened. Kids at Hope do this in three ways:

Believe: Beginning with the belief that you are capable of success builds a strong foundation of hope. What we believe affects our thoughts, which affects are feelings, which affects the choices me make. If we believe we are capable of success, no exceptions, we find ways to be successful, no exceptions.

Connect: "You're only as good as the company you keep" is an old saying that remains true throughout generations. When you surround yourself with hopeful people, you can't help but be influenced and inspired by their attitudes and choices.

Time Travel: "When you have a why, you can bear with almost any how." ~Viktor Frankl

Hope grows when we can envision a future we want for ourselves and create a plan to get there. When we have a plan, we can prepare for and withstand any obstacles that get in the way. Seeing a future full of things we want motivates us and keeps us moving forward, especially when things get tough.

How will you believe, connect, and time travel to grow hope in yourself and in others this month and each month after?

Cultural Connections: Honoring Native American Heritage

During the month of November, we honor Native American heritage in our country. Please listen to the legend of the Northern Lights in the video below, a legend among the Alaska Native tribes, which speaks of our own potential to overcome tremendous challenges and become a light in this darkened world.
