Upcoming Events in Celebration of Fall and Wrapping Up the Month of October
The week of October 25-29, 2021 will be quite busy at FMS. There are many activities going on:
Red Ribbon Week led by CLUB LIVE! Awareness on the Dangers of Drug Use
Haunted House Book Fair in FMS Library.
Fall Spirit Week led by FMS Student Leadership. Please refer to the calendar below for the dress-up theme days for the week. Encourage students to show their spirit by participating in the fun days ahead to build student camaraderie!
The week will end on Friday, Oct. 29th with a Fall Fest of fun activities for students.
FALL SPIRIT WEEK!
Friday October 29th the Student Leadership and Club Live is hosting Fall Fest! This is a fun event of activities for students to partake in that day before the end of school.

Friday, November 12th, at 2:20 p.m.
Anyone is welcome to participate in this portion.
Meet in the MULTI after school.
Bring a PENCIL and a piece of PAPER and be
ready to start by 2:20!

Oral Bee – After school on Friday, December 17th, 2021
The students with the top 12 scores from the
written bee will be invited to participate in
the oral bee. Guests are welcome to watch.
We will start at 1:15 in the multipurpose room (it’s a super minimum day)
The winner of FMS’s Oral Bee will go on to participate in the
California Central Valley Spelling Bee in March!

UPCOMING BOOK FAIR
We need volunteers...we need YOU! Volunteering at the FMS Haunted House Book Fair is the perfect way to stay connected to your child at school and help students find the books they can't wait to read. Our book fairs bring in money for the library so we can get the newest and best books for our students! Sign up now and get ready for a fun and rewarding volunteer experience!
It is getting cold outside, and our PE students are feeling it. Please consider ordering some sweats to use during class. This site will be open from Friday 10/15 until Monday 10/25. Orders are expected to arrive by 11/19. We also have Hats and Gaiters available. Stay warm out there!
HEALTH NEWS
MEAL ACCOMODATION FORM FOR SCHOOL LUNCHES
This year, all students are eligible for free lunches at school. If your student has a medical condition which requires food-based accommodations, please complete the form with their doctor. If your student (with a food restriction) would like to access free lunch at school, they will be able to have safe/ healthy options as well---The school will order alternative meal options for students with meal accommodation forms on file.
For example:
· Celiac Disease- gluten free options can be made available
· Severe food allergies
· Religious-based food restrictions
· Etc.
If you have any questions about the meal accommodation process, please reach out to FCUSD Food Services 916-294-9011.
8th grade Hearing and Vision is scheduled for 11/2 and 11/3 during PE. If you do not want your child screened, please email Dr. Daniels by 10/29/21 (tdaniels@fcusd.org)
