CTE Month
This is a great time to celebrate the achievements of the many dedicated Career & Technical Education students and staff in the Beaverton School District. Below is a list of the CTE programs by high school.
A CTE Program of Study is a sequence of courses, aligned to industry standards at the secondary and post-secondary level, that integrates technical and career skills with academic content. CTE teachers prepare students for further education and training or direct job placement, by collaborating with industry and community college partners to provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for high-wage and high-demand occupations. All of our programs work to develop employability/soft skills and engage students in career-related learning activities. Many of our programs offer students the opportunity to earn industry credentials or dual credit or participate in leadership opportunities through Career and Technical Student Organizations.
CTE teachers in the BSD contribute to our students’ graduation rates and college and career readiness:
- The 2017-18 graduation rate for BSD students who earned one or more credits in a technical skill-based course as part of an Oregon state-approved CTE program was 98.5% compared to 86.4% for all BSD students.
Please take a moment to congratulate a CTE teacher or student in your school or community!
