JMMS Weekly Update
December 18, 2020
Principal's Message
Good Afternoon Alpine,
As we come to the end of 2020, I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that there might be an end in sight. Before we return to school on January 4, 2021, I encourage you to complete the following with your child:
1. Find the good.
This year has been difficult for everyone. Look back at the year and acknowledge your blessings and your child's resiliency in the face of uncertain times.
2. Celebrate your Family and the wins.
Reflect on how your family and friends came together as a united force. Maybe your family was able to maintain a specific goal, like increasing the number of meals that you had together or the number of games you played. Any win, big or small, is a remarkable achievement.
3. Mark your calendar to expand your perspective.
Before you close your calendar for 2020, plan for success. During the break, read a book you have always wanted to read but procrastinated, binge a show as a family, play a game together, or perform a random act of kindness.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for a Safe New Year!
Sincerely,
Casey Currigan
Online Expectations
- Shut Down - Stop attending and stop doing work.
- Act Out - Behavior is complicated and students who act up will do so because they don't want people to know they are struggling.
- Step Up - Pull up their boots and work even harder.
We want all of our Dust Devils to fall in category number three but unfortunately, that isn't the case. We do have a team that is reaching out to families that fall under number one to support those students and for the students in category number two will identify those students requiring all students to follow these guidelines for distance learning. The most important guidelines are that we want students to log in with an AUSD device. When they login we want them to have their full name and a live picture up and running. Please assist us in supporting your child by reading this document and discuss the requirements.
