Disinfecting is when a person uses a solution (mostly chemical) to remove organisms that cause infections or disease
Cleaning is the physical removal of dirt or grime using soap or detergent.
Sterilization is any method that eliminates all forms of life and other biological agents.
Disinfection methods include chlorination, chloride dioxide, chloramines, ozone, and UV light.
Items that are disinfected: cabinets, patient tables, door knobs, faucets, cages, etc.
