Virtual Job Fair May 26th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm - Seniors, Register Now!
Seniors, if you don’t have a plan after graduation, attend this Virtual Job Fair!
We are offering a virtual event for our graduating seniors who may not already have a plan for their next step that would like to go to work. This event is a collaboration through our Top of Virginia Regional Chamber Workforce committee. Students will register and can select which companies they would like to participate in a virtual interview with. This event is specific to only graduating seniors in Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Warren and Shenandoah Counties, so participating companies are aware they are talking to graduating seniors and are only addressing entry level positions right now. As of last week, the following are the participating businesses.
Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury
Frederick County Sheriff's Office
Continental
Lowe's Companies, Inc. (Loudoun Locations)
The Home Depot
Virginia Career Works/Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board
Covenant Building Maintenance, Inc.

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26
County of Frederick, VA
Riddleberger Brothers, Inc.
Grafton Integrated Health Network

UVA High School Leaders Program
The Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for the 2021 High School Leaders Program.
The Sorensen Institute's High School Leaders Program (HSLP) offers a concentrated study in Virginia politics and government for high school students from across the state. The HSLP is based on a firm belief that young people not only can make a positive difference in their communities but should also be strongly encouraged to do so.
The 2021 High School Leaders Program will take place virtually, via Zoom, over the course of three weeks in July. The class will meet Monday-Friday July 12-29 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Program days will feature lectures, presentations, discussions, and workshops.
Students must be at least 16 years old by the start of the HSLP and at least a rising junior. The class is also open to graduating seniors. Successful completion of the High School Leaders Program earns each student three graded college credits from the University of Virginia. Tuition for the 2021 HSLP is $1,600, which includes the cost of the three college credits.
Applications will be accepted until midnight on Monday, May 17th. Application instructions for the HSLP can be found on our application page.
If you'd like to recommend someone as a potential applicant or request more information for yourself, please visit our online referrals form.

Explanation of Event: Approximately 500 American Flags will be placed displaying patriotism and unity for our country in the grassy area in front of Handley High School fronting Valley Avenue.
