Staff Update
July 27, 2018
New Staff
As we begin the 2018-2019 school year, we are so excited to be part of such an amazing
team on this exciting journey together. Through the work that you have done,
you all show true dedication, creativity, ingenuity, and teamwork. We have no doubt that we
will continue to grow as a school family as we welcome our new members to the STEAM Team this year! We realize that some are not new to STEAM, but new to their position and we wanted to recognize them.
Please take a moment the next time you see them to welcome them to our team.

Budget
There is a correction to the budget amount sent out at the end of last year. District wide, teachers will receive a $250 classroom budget. This budget can be used as you see fit. When filling out a PO request form with this budget, please label it “Classroom Budget”. You have until December 20, 2018 to encumber these funds. Remember these funds are expected to be used for the current school year.
Needs over and above your $250 can be requested as a grade level, however keep in mind the budget constraints, it MUST be a “need” versus a “want”. I do consider STEAM curriculum materials as a “need” and you can do a prioritized list as a grade level with what you need. Linda will send back your request if it is missing information she needs to order the materials. Each grade level will have a budget of $200 to spend on grade level needs.
Next year we will continue to purchase project needs on a quarterly basis. All items should be tied to the curriculum for your grade level. Linda will send you a spreadsheet to start entering items for next year. We will purchase the items listed in July. We will not purchase project items again until September.
Art, Music, Library, Counselor, and PE all have a separate budget, but must follow the same directions as seen above. Please label your PO request form as “Art”, “Music”, or “PE” Budget. Linda will email you your 18-19 budgets in the next few days.

In an effort to reduce costs for the families in the Belton School District, all supply lists throughout the district have been reduced. We wanted to make sure you all knew of the changes to help plan for any items you may need in your classroom.
