Canyons

What is a canyon?
Canyons sit between cliffs and deep valleys. Canyons can be very steep. The Grand canyon is in Arizona is the deepest canyon in the united states. It is I mile deep.
Physical Features
Canyons have steep sides. They are found in rocky places and on the ocean floor. A canyon is often called a gorge.
Climate
Depending on the location of the canyon will determine the climate. The Grand Canyon has 4 seasons, spring, winter, fall, and summer. Bryce Canyon in Utah also has four seasons. It is cold during the winter and warm during the summer.
natrual resources
most caves are made from sandstone it is kind of like rock and sometimes is forms a slot canyon.
animals
Some examples for animals that live in a canyon are:
deer
mountain lion
wild turkeys
cactus plants
pink rattle snakes
Rats
Skunks
Coyotes
Bears
Eagles
Squirrels
A cave is cool and moist so bears can find fruit and prickly pear cactus.

This is a rocky canyon it is very hot there.
