Instructional Focus:

In last week's math training, we went through the importance of stressing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and application.

During Wendy's PLC trainings, you took a look at some paradigm shifts.

That's a lot of new ideas for one week!

Pick one or two that you are going to try to implement this week. Don't worry if you fail, as failure is the first step in learning! Put yourself out there, and try something new.

Which one are you going to try first?

Odds and Ends:

  • As the new printers are put into use, it's important to note that the cheapest machine to use is the massive one in the workroom. On average it costs $.002 per page to print.
  • GPS is expecting a significant substitute shortage during the week of President's Day, as this is the week of a PLC summit.
  • Spectrum Elementary will be starting a traditional school program that mirrors what is done at Neely. This will start next year with one teacher per grade level. Either Boulder Creek or Canyon Rim, will be starting the same thing next year.
  • Mesquite Elementary will be starting an Elite Athletes program next year. The school day will run from 7:15-12:15 and transportation will be provided to their dance/gym studio after. This could also be an option for students that need a shorter day for health reasons as well.

Thank you to everyone who helped out with our First Annual Night of the Arts!!! It was an amazing event!!!
