Dear BGJHS Families,
Today, educators and students across America are finding themselves in unchartered territory. Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have an impact on communities all over the world and here in Warren County. Please know that we are all working tirelessly to stay focused on the most important thing to us, which is our students and their families. With that in mind, we’d like to share some of the steps that BGJHS is taking to ensure the health and safety of our staff and methods we are using to allow learning to continue for our amazing and dedicated students.
As this is a quickly evolving situation, we have already transitioned to a work-from-home practice for all BGJHS staff members. Effective March 20, 2020, the office will be closed to the public. We ask that you please contact teachers or other staff members via email if you have any questions or concerns.
As with all of us, we are unsure how long this pandemic and its impact will last. Therefore, here are the actions we encourage and are taking to ensure our students and families have the tools and resources they need to be able to continue participating in learning experiences. We encourage parents and students to collaborate with us using our online tools, such as google classroom and email. We will utilize these platforms to communicate and help keep students engaged virtually by allowing teachers to collaborate by sharing files, engage by asking questions, and connect by communicating with other students.
Again, we thank each of you for your patience and support during this unprecedented time.
Thanks,
Robert Lightning

Medication at school
Just as a reminder, students are not allowed to carry any medication, except for prescribed emergency medication. All medication to be administered at school must have a form on file with the school nurse and signed by the parent/guardian and prescribing physician.Students may not transport their own medication to school, with the exception of those students self carrying emergency medication with a signed form on file. If you have any questions about medications, please contact Nurse Rose.
To prevent the spread of flu and other illnesses, please do not send your child to school if they are sick. Students who have had a temperature over 100.5 should be fever free for 24 hours without taking fever reducing medicine, like Tylenol, before they return to school.
Remind students to practice good hand hygiene by using hand sanitizers or hand washing frequently throughout the day.
School nurses are only allowed to administer medication with written authorization from a parent or guardian. If you haven’t completed a consent for your student, please contact Nurse Rose at annie.tinch@bgreen.kyschools.us.
