Keystone Pipeline
Yucca Mountain
"In 2011, Senator Heller stated that it was time for proponents of Yucca Mountain to move on. He added that the fact that Yucca Mountain is a threat to public safety should be enough to terminate this project, but given our nation’s dire financial situation it makes little sense to keep spending taxpayer dollars on this ill-conceived project."
Heller Statement on Keystone XL Pipeline
"(Washington DC) – U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) today issued the following statement after the Obama Administration announced its rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline permit.
“President Obama claims he is for creating jobs, but he keeps enacting policies and regulations that kill them. Today, the Administration chose to kill 20,000 American jobs, forego billions of investments into the American economy and jeopardize our energy security. As gas prices climb towards $4 per gallon, the President needs to focus on a sound energy policy that promotes job growth, rather than making decisions aimed at shoring up votes,” said Senator Dean Heller.
The Keystone XL pipeline would invest $5.4 billion dollars in the U.S. and create an estimated 20,000 American jobs."
