What is Trichomoniasis?

Trichomoniasis is a sexual transmitted disease (STD) caused by a parasite. The infection could affect men and women. It is transmitted through the penis and the vagina.

Symptoms, Treatment, Prevention

Symptoms include

  • Irritation in penis
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Penile discharge
  • Burning after urination or ejaculation
  • Irritation in the vaginal area.
Trichomoniasis can be treated with antibiotics (either metronidazole or tinidazole) . Using latex condoms correctly every time you have sex will help reduce the risk of getting or spreading trichomoniasis. However, the best way to prevent trichmoniasis is to not have sex.
