Number of Spectator Tickets Increase for High School Spring Athletics
All West Ada School District high schools are following the guidelines for SIC high school sports this spring. These protocols have also been implemented at SIC district tournaments.
Track, Softball and Baseball: Up to four tickets are allowed for away and home fans based on the facility capacity of each school. Fans will follow district rules and regulations in accordance with health and safety plans. Head coaches must communicate if the capacity at certain venues does not allow for four tickets.
Golf and Tennis: Fans will follow social distancing protocols and face mask wearing in accordance with the rules of the county and school expectations.
Please communicate with your student’s coach if you have any questions.
Social Emotional Support as Students Return to School
The school district’s counseling team shared with the Board of Trustees how staff are preparing to welcome students back to in-person learning March 30 as well as how social emotional learning is supported in curriculum.
For students in grades 6-12, the return to in-person learning will be treated as a first day of school. Reconnecting and building relationships are important, as is the routine of a child’s school schedule. Students are reminded of school procedures and the resources available to them.
Social emotional learning is part of the curriculum for all grade levels. School district staff work alongside families in providing appropriate resources to students with support groups, behavior plans, counseling and referrals to community resources.
