Optional Weekly COVID Testing at Dartmouth

We are pleased to share that we are partnering with healthcare professionals to provide regular, optional testing at USD school sites starting September 27, 2021. As an additional layer of protection, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends screening testing in schools to stop the spread of the virus and prevent outbreaks. Union School District has partnered with professional testing experts at Grapefruit Testing to conduct no-cost COVID-19 screening tests of students and staff at our schools.

All students will require parent/guardian permission to participate. Consent forms are linked below. Printed copies can be obtained from the school office. We encourage families to complete the consent form and submit it directly to Grapefruit Testing so that your student may participate in this important on site, health screening opportunity. This testing will also allow us to test students who may qualify for a modified quarantine.

If you do not want to participate in testing, do not fill out the consent form. If you register to participate, you have the right to withdraw your consent in writing at anytime by emailing OptOut@GrapefruitTesting.com.

Progress Reports- Grade Updates This Friday

This Friday marks the mid-quarter point for the First Quarter. Your child's grades will be updated in Powerschool to reflect their progress to date.. Please review your child's progress together and make note of trends that will require your support or praise.

Coming back to in-person learning with a new set of academic expectations has been challenging for many students. The resilience, focus, and maturity required to navigate the academic and social demands is a job all children need adult support with. Please reach out to your child's teachers for any assistance. Our goal is to provide the tools, opportunities, and guidance necessary to help our children learn with success and happiness.

Student Safety

Please help us by being on the lookout for students walking and biking to and from school. The adolescent brain has difficulty managing the complexities of school parking lot navigation. The concerns of seeing friends, the demands of school, and fluctuations of focus inhibit their ability to see oncoming cars. Driving slowly and with caution will help our children make it to class and home safely.
