Let's Get This School Year Started!!!!
As summer break comes to a close, a new school year welcomes you back!! This school year holds infinitie possiblities with the best possible outcomes. I hope that your summer was relaxing and filled with lots of fun, memory-making moments. Summer break allows us the opportunity to refuel so we return with fresh energy and eagerness to grow our students' minds. I know this school year is going to be one that is filled with hope, vision, and excitement. It is my hope that everyone will be actively involved in ensuring that every student is learning and growing under our watch. We cannot and will not let children fail academically, socially and/or behaviorally. They are depending on us!!!
Together, we can make this the best year ever at Royal ISD!!!!

Organize Your Google Classroom
You can create almost as many topics as you want (max 100).
CKH - Launch
In the CKH EXCEL Model, launching has to do with the way we end and send. It is the way teachers end a classroom experience and the way they send their students forth to face the day.
Important Reminder
Three things to remember going into this school year!!
Teacher Tip #1 -- Start the Year Successfully
First impressions are important!!! In the classroom, your first impression can set the tone for the entire school year. Avoid diving into teaching the content on the very first day. Instead, take the time to begin building relationships and making connections. Get to know your students and give them an opporunity to get to know you.
Here are a few must do items for beginning the school year on a positive note:
- Greet your students at the door with a smile and a high five.
- Be organized and prepared. Plan and rehearse every minute of your first day.
- Have some type of "fun" assignment (possibly an interest inventory or have the decorate a name plate) awaiting students so that they can get busy immediately upon entering the classroom.
- Remain calm, pleasant, and positive. If you're smiling, they won't know your nervous.
- Share your expectations and tell them what they can expect from you and your class.
- Let them know that you are super excited to be their teacher and how glad you are that they are in your class.
- Express your belief that they will ALL have a successful year!!!
