Carnival Raffle Winners
Thank you to all our parents, staff and volunteers for making the 2019 Carnival a success! It was a beautiful night and everyone had a great time.
If you participated in the Raffle, the winning numbers are listed on the OCE PTA website here. The winning tickets are listed in numerical order, so be sure to read all the way through - some experiences have multiple winners.
There are still 13 prizes that have not been claimed!
If you have a winning number, please email the following information to email@example.com by NOON on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
Include in your email:
- Name of Raffle Item
- Your Name
- Your Phone Number
- Your Email Address
- The Winning Child's Name
- The Winning Child's Teacher
After noon on Saturday, all unclaimed raffles will have new winners drawn and those new winners will have until Tuesday, May 21st to claim their prize.
EOG Testing Training
EOG Testing is coming! We are in great need of volunteers to help proctor inside of classrooms and to be hallway monitors. We need volunteers for small group settings, homerooms, and hallways.
YOUR CHILD DOES NOT NEED TO BE TESTING IN ORDER TO BE A MONITOR! If we do not have enough parent volunteers, we will need to take teacher's aides out of classrooms to proctor/monitor. So K-2 parents, consider helping out.
If you'd like to come to the training first to see what's entailed in the various locations, you may come to the training first and then sign up as a proctor or hall monitor.
If for any reason you are unable to make it to a date you signed up for, please cancel it on the sign-up AND email Ms. Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you so much for all you do for our students and school!

Open OCE PTA Positions
Open positions include:
Secretary - The secretary is responsible for taking the minutes at each PTA meeting (second Thursday each month at 1pm). If you are a good listener and note taker and want to be present at meetings to hear what's going on at the school, this is the perfect position for you.
Treasurer - This person is responsible for creating the annual budget, monthly reports, and making deposits as well as fulfilling check requests. This position does require frequent visits to school (already dropping your kid at car pool in the morning? This might work for you!) and the ability to deposit money at our Apex bank during normal banking hours. Our current volunteer is super organized so the hand off should be easy. Her term runs until August, so there will be plenty of time to learn the ins and outs.
The OCE PTA is a great group of dedicated parents and we would love to see some fresh faces!

Clipper families, please continue to clip those Box Tops and send them in to your teacher or drop them in the Box Top mail boxes located by the front office.
Each Box Top is cash for our school!
We will continue to count Box Tops through the end of the school year.
Remember to write the name of your student's teacher on the sheet or bag containing your Box Tops so the class can earn a prize. A winner for the class that collects the most in each grade will be announced June 14. The wining classes will receive popsicles to celebrate summer!

Food 4 Kids
Here is an ongoing way for OCE Families and the community to support Food 4 Kids. We have set up a CheddarUp account so monetary donations can be made throughout the year. Click here to donate.
If you would still like to send in items, the Food 4 Kids collection bin is right outside the front office and is in constant need of Publix Gift Cards, Canned Meats (Tuna, Chicken), Beans (canned or dried), Rice (small bags), Soup or Ramen Noodles, Mac & Cheese, and individually bagged snacks (Goldfish, Pretzels, Raisins).
Again, the Food 4 Kids program provides back packs of food each Friday for OCE students in need to help them through the weekend.

AFMS PTA POSITIONS
Attention Rising 6th Grade Families that will be attending Apex Friendship Middle School, the AFMS PTSA needs your help! The Board is on the verge of not existing next year. We have 2 VP roles and several Committee Chairs staying on but we can't have a PTSA without a President, Secretary and Treasurer. We still have a lot of background and procedural items that need to be in place so ideally we need a President that has PTA Board Experience. The details for all the open positions can be found here.
