You can have your cake and eat it, too!
Birthday Cake is the best dessert in town
Who does not love getting to celebrate someone with some birthday cake? The lucious cake layers, the sweet frosting, the cute decorations--it is such a treat to eat! Let us face it--the cake is the best part of any party.
Why I'm Like Birthday Cake
I'm sweet all over
I am very laid back and I like having fun. I am on the border between being an introvert and an extrovert. I tend to be quiet and listen more in big groups, but I can be the life of the party, too. I like my independence but I also am genuinely interested in other people. I am just plain nice. People tell me I am approachable. There is a joke among people who have known me for a long time that my frown is still like a smile.
I'm multi-layered
I have many professional skills. My key strengths as an educator include curriculum/lesson design, coaching other teachers, and inspiring enthusiasm about learning in my students. More private strengths that others might now know about me are that I am very organized and I love bettering myself and taking advantage of professional development whenever possible. I also have taken on leadership roles at school. I served as the Science Department Chair for 6 years and was part of the CCGPS team at my school last year.
I can light up a room
I am an optimist. As a teacher leader, I want to develop solutions and make my school better. I do not appreciate Debbie Downers. My biggest pet peeve is having to listen to a person who continually complains. It is not in my nature to complain. I want to see the best in every situation and be a problem solver.
