Gingerbread Boy Bridges
The students worked in groups to build a model of a bridge using marshmallows and toothpicks to help the Gingerbread Boy get across the river
Everyone working really hard in their groups!
This bridge did last long enough for the Gingerbread Boy to get across. Everyone was so excited!
The picture took as the bridge was falling. The students were a little surprised when it fell.
This bridge spanned the space but the holes were too big and the Gingerbread Boy fell through.
What we learned
Sometimes failure is part of the engineering process.
Weight is very important in building bridges.
Marshmallows are heavy.
The students agreed the marshmallows should be more like the glue that holds the toothpicks together.
