Last year Buckhorn High School students collected over 12,000 canned and nonperishable food items for the Bobbie Odom Food Pantry, New Market United Methodist Church. Our student’s generosity and your valuable help will again provide local families the food they need during the holiday season. This year, we will again try to collect more canned and nonperishable food items for the Food Pantry. We need your help. Please support this worthy cause. All food items collected are donated to local families in need.
The JROTC cadets will bring an empty box to classrooms for students to place their food items in. The JROTC cadets will visit classrooms every other day, during planning blocks, to collect and count donated food items.
The cadets will collect donations through Thursday, November 16th. The Church will pick up all the donated food at 2:15pm on Friday, November 17th.
We will have a second collection after the Thanksgiving Break until Thursday, December 14th. All donations collected during both phases will be donated to the Bobbie Odom Food Pantry.
The class that collects the most food items will get a free breakfast (courtesy of Dr. Chumbley’s Culinary Class) for 1st block or Domino's/Papa John’s Pizza and soft drinks for a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th block class. Teachers, please separate your donations by block/class so we can track the numbers accurately. Thank you! ~LTC Stewart and SGT Lewis

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
