A Message From Dr. Ricks
Parents and Friends,
The 3rd Grade Showcase was a great success. Congratulations to Mrs. Monk and Mrs. Puckett for guiding and supporting their students through such a thorough investigation of genre! The play was entertaining and informative, and the projects were creative. It is always a joy to see the hard work of our students so masterfully on display!
And there are other celebrations and events to make note of as the last few days of school approach. Our final Eucharist and Awards Day Ceremony will occur on Wednesday, followed by Kindergarten graduation. 8th grade graduation will be held later that evening at 6pm.
Many thanks to all of the parents and teachers who have planned, supported, and provided for the many end-of-year field trips, parties, and celebrations; it has been a great year.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Dr. Beth J. Ricks, Ph, D.

Save the Date: Crawfish Communion and End of Year Blessing
Grace Episcopal Church will host its third annual Crawfish Communion (with End of Year Blessing for Teachers and Students) on Sunday May 21st—there will be only one service that day: 10.15am. There will be fun for all. Prices for tickets and t-shirts are in the works. Keep an eye out for more information.
Graduation Recognition
On Sunday, May 21st, at our 10.15am service, we would like to recognize those graduating from eighth grade, high school, college, and graduate school. We will list graduates names, school from which they are graduating, and their post-graduation plans (work or school). Please send graduate information to Angie (secretary@gracechurchmonroe.org) at the church office by Monday, May 15th.
Theology on Tap
Our next Theology on Tap will be held at the Ouachita Brewing Company on Tuesday, May 2nd at 6:00pm. Join us for a discussion of relative, contemporary, and practical topics with a Christian perspective, all while sharing a pint of Monroe’s own micro-brewed lager. Space is limited, so sign up on our Facebook page. See you there!
New Bible Study Class
Starting Sunday, May 14th , Fr. Michael will begin a class on Paul’s letter to the Philippians. By studying this short letter by St. Paul to a young church, we get to witness how he has worked out a “wonderful, many-colored picture of what Jesus achieved, of God’s worldwide plan and how it all works out in the lives of ordinary people.” To help us in our study we will be using N. T. Wright’s, For Everyone Bible Study Guide: Philippians. Grace Church will purchase several copies of the book which you may then purchase from us. The cost of the book is $7.66. Please contact the Church office if you would like a book.
Living Compass Class
A class on "Wellness in Relationships" will be taught for four weeks beginning April 30th and continuing on May 7th, 14th, and 21st. It will begin at 9:15 in the Grace School conference room, and child care will be provided. This class was taught during the winter at the same time as the parenting class, and several people have asked for it to be repeated. Grab a cup of coffee and a donut ....all are welcome!
