Sabercat Update
January 3, 2021
I hope everyone had a safe and restful holiday break! As our Sabercats transition into the second semester, we have a few reminders for our students.
All students who have been receiving Face to Face Instruction should report to their first semester's first period class to receive their new schedule. During first period, any student who has a schedule change will be signaled to move to their new first period class. All Connect learners will need to check the Home Access Center for their second semester schedule. Students should be enrolled in their new Schoology courses beginning on Monday morning.
All students who are transitioning to Face to Face Instruction from Connect Instruction will report to the cafeteria when they arrive on campus. They will be greeted and instructed where to sit. At this time, they will receive their student ID and schedule. In addition, the students will be instructed on the campus protocols and then transitioned to their first period.
I would like to take this time to share a few reminders. Our staff works diligently to keep our students safe. We can only do so much. We need our Sabercat families to do their part. What we need from you:
Send your child with a properly fitting face mask that covers both nose and mouth and stays up.
If someone in the family is experiencing any COVID symptoms, please keep your student(s) home until you know definitively the family member is not COVID positive.
If a student is experiencing symptoms, keep them home until you are sure it is not COVID.
• Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0OF
• Loss of taste or smell
• Cough
• Difficulty breathing
• Shortness of breath
• Fatigue
• Headache
• Chills
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Shaking or exaggerated shivering
• Significant muscle pain or ache
• Diarrhea
• Nausea or vomiting
If someone in your household is COVID positive, the whole family must quarantine for 14 days.
Please submit information to healthservices@cfisd.net
Remember, if a student is sent home to quarantine due to exposure, please keep them at home and away from others for 14 days. They can not participate in or attend extracurricular activities that could expose others.
I am excited for what the new year holds. We look forward to partnering with our families as we continue to navigate the school year in the time of COVID. Our main goal is to educate our Sabercats while keeping students and staff safe and healthy.
Here's to a great 2021!
