BetterU Challenge
A 12-Week Program to Improve Your Overall Health
Week 10 - It's All in the Family (History)
We get a lot of traits from our parents and grandparents, including an increased chance of developing heart disease and stroke. Race also plays a role. We can't change our genetic make-up, but healthy habits can help us and our families avoid the risks.
Our health habits influence our family and friends. Therefore, we should involve them in heart-healthy choices as much as possible. Making choices that are balanced and realistic will allow all of us to enjoy becoming healthier together.
The American Heart Association suggests numerous healthy activities to become a heart healthy family.
We have to make our health a priority. "You cannot take care of anyone if you don't take care of you."
