Hello 3rd grade families
We are continuing to work on building community with our students! We are enjoying our time getting to know each other.
Literacy- Our first few Literacy lessons are focused on practicing our reading stamina as well as making connections.
Math-We have been working on telling time using an analog clock as well as digital. Next week we will discuss different strategies used to multiply.
Conferences are coming soon. Please refer to Mr. Navidad's message for sign up information. We encourage students to attend their conference and be part of the conversations.

Third graders have been very busy since we came back from Parent Teacher conferences! It has been exciting to hear all of their thoughts and ideas as we learn using the inquiry process.
Literacy: We will be starting to use Words Their Way during our Literacy block.Students will be using word sorts to help with decoding, spelling, and reading words. We are excited to being the process next week. We will also start Book Clubs next week. Kids will be placed in a small group and meet 2 times a week with their teacher. In their small group they will read and discuss text at their reading level.
Science: We are finishing up our first Science unit in the next couple of weeks. We have been learning about plants and trees. We will start our second Social Studies unit in December.
Math: We just finished Unit 1 in Math. Your student should be bringing the corrected math test home in the next few days.
