The Eagles' Nest
November 2017
From the Desk of Dr. Reddish...
Dear Eagleville Families,
Two months into the school year, and we are finishing our first marking period! I can’t believe we are nearing the end of the year 2017. The children continue to work extremely hard, and examples of their work adorn the walls of classrooms and hallways. I would also like to commend our students and staff for earning 88.1 School Performance Profile (SPP) score for growth and achievement on the 2017 PSSAs. Eagleville had the highest score in the District, and I am proud of their efforts. We are continuing to build on our skills and are looking forward to continued success!
Speaking of success, we implemented our new traffic patterns on campus last week. Overall, the implementation went well, although we are still tweaking some things for efficacy. Here are a few reminders for you:
- Please do not arrive to the car line before 3:15PM as we have students outside for recess and PE.
- ALL Traffic should follow the traffic signs and road markings.
- Car Line should exit the same route they use to enter (do not turn into the bus loop)
- Kdg Drop-Off & Pick-Up – Please see the attached for clarification
Please note that we have been notified by the township of an upcoming sewer project that will affect road access that is scheduled to begin later this month. More information will follow.
November is a busy month! We will be hosting our Veteran’s Day assembly at 9:45AM on Nov. 10th, which promises to be a delightful time. We will also rehearse our emergency drills on Drill Day (Nov. 14th) and are hosting Parent Visitation Day on Nov. 15th during American Education Week. A reminder that parent/teacher conferences will take place in the afternoon on November 20-23. There is no school for kindergarten and 11:45 a.m. early dismissal for grades 1-4 on those dates. You should have received information regarding your appointment time—please send it back to school if you have not done so already, and we will confirm your date/time by Nov. 13th. We encourage you to attend conferences to find out how your child is progressing. Report cards are coming soon! Make sure you are signed up for the parent portal to access your child’s report card. You will receive notification if you are not signed up.
Don’t forget that school is in session tomorrow (Nov. 7th)! It is Election Day and voting is taking place in the music room. Please remember to vote and use the designated parking spaces in the front of the building. Also, please come out to Family Literacy/Math Night next week (Nov. 14 & 15) at Eagleville!
We are excited to introduce "Food For Thought" which is the name of the Eagleville snack program. As promised, we are looking to make snacks available to students to help them SOAR at Eagleville! We will need your help to get the program started. More information will be sent home soon!
Fall is definitely upon us, and the weather has gotten chilly. Please make sure your child wears a jacket. The students go outside for recess daily, weather permitting, and they are not permitted to re-enter the building once they go outside. So, please equip your child by insisting he/she dresses warmly. Also, please put your child’s name inside his/her jacket so it can returned if it is misplaced. Moreover, please consider sending in an extra sweatshirt or sweater to keep in the cubby in case it becomes cool in your child’s room.
I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Please contact our school counselor, Ms. Shaw, if you are in need of any help as we enter the holiday season. Cherish the time with your family! Take care!

Dr. Zanthia Reddish, Principal
