ACOVA is the professional association building community, advocacy, and leadership for Arizona Career & Technical Education Administrators.

This monthly communication will help to serve CTE administrators across the state by providing timely and informative updates that will support the work you do surrounding Career & Technical Education in your district, schools, and classrooms.

National School Educator Week is May 3-7, 2021!

Important Dates...

May 3-7 is National Educator Week! How are you celebrating the staff at your school?

GRANTS: FY22 Perkins & Priority Grant Applications are available now!! Districts must complete the CLNA in order to be able to submit you new year Perkins grant. Current CLNAs need to be uploaded to FY22 Perkins.

CTE Technical Skills Assessment - window to register/test students closes at noon on May 14 (congratulatory letters and certificates to be sent week of May 17)

FY20 Data Portal open for updates in Graduate Placement Survey through June 15

CTE Data Portal Open for FY21 Updates through June 15 for the following:

  • Coherent Sequence
  • Fall Enrollment
  • Spring Enrollment
  • Funding Exemption Requests

CTE Data Portal Open for FY21 Updates to Credentials through September 1

CTE Data Portal open for FY21 Participant/Concentrator updates, June 17- July 15

Watch for CTE FY20 Performance Measures reports to be published. These reports are for reference only and will not be used for accountability or funding purposes.

AZ CTE Industry Credential Program

Secondary entities that may be eligible to participate in the Incentive Program (a.k.a. Governor's Incentive Fund) should have received communication from Cathie Raymond (via Kathy Bowersock) that included Instructions and reporting templates to use with approved programs/credentials for 2020 graduates. All completed Arizona Industry Credential Incentive Program spreadsheets must be received no later than May 1, 2021 in order to be considered for funding. Please reach out to Jennifer directly with any questions about this.


IF YOU WERE AWARDED FUNDS FOR 2019 GRADUATES, YOU MUST ALLOCATE THEM WITHIN THE GME IN ORDER TO ACCESS THEM. Funds may be lost as of June 30 if they have yet to be allocated (see GMC, FY20 & your Grant Specialist if you have questions!!)


The Association for Career Technical Education of Arizona and the Arizona Department of Education invites you to participate in our Virtual Arizona Career and Technical Education Summer Conference "Maintaining Balance and Moving Forward," July 19-22, 2021. This conference is open to Administrators, Counselors, Teachers and Industry Partners. A draft Agenda will be set up on the website as sessions become confirmed.
