Reminder of Crosswalk Safety
Please review with your child(ren) the importance of crossing the street with the crossing guard. It has been brought to our attention that some students are crossing with parents and not taking advantage of our crosswalk. During arrival and dismissal, most drivers pay attention, but there are times when some drivers are distracted. We are asking you to help teach scholars the importance of safety and using the crosswalk. Please help to create a walking safety plan with your family to keep everybody safe during arrival and dismissal at school.
Here are some additional safety tips to review with child(ren):
Pedestrians
- Walk on the sidewalk, if one is available. When on a street with no sidewalk, walk facing the traffic.
- Before you cross the street, stop and look left, right and left again to see if cars are coming.
- Make eye contact with drivers before crossing and always cross streets at crosswalks or intersections.
- Stay alert and avoid distracted walking.
Bike Riders
Teach your child the rules of the road and practice riding the bike route to school with your child.
- Ride on the right side of the road, with traffic, and in a single file.
- Come to a complete stop before crossing the street; walk bikes across the street.
- Stay alert and avoid distracted riding.
- Make sure your child always wears a properly fitted helmet and bright clothing.
Thank you for your support in keeping our scholars safe at all times!

In the Clinic with Nurse Santana
Since 2016 Humble ISD has prohibited scholars from bringing cough drops to school. Please do not send cough drops or any other medications to school with your scholar. If you do send cough drops, I am required to take them from scholars. I can hold then for a couple of days in case you would like to pick them up; after two days they will be disposed of. Thank you for your help!

Kindness Rules at TE!
- Fourth grader Kaitlyn Wooters brings a first aid kit with her wherever she goes. She keeps an eye out for others who may have gotten scrapes or cuts and are in need of a band-aid and has offered a band-aid to several people at the park, the zoo and wherever she goes.
- Second grader Noah Crittendon makes sure to feed and give water to his family's fur baby, Bella.
- Fourth grader Preston Price broke all the ice off his grandparents' porch so his Nannie wouldn’t fall and hurt herself!
- Kindergarten scholar Ryleigh Richardson helps with folding the laundry and makes sure that her room is always clean. She also helps clean and make her little sister's bed without even being asked to. She is a great big sister!
Please continue sharing all of the acts of kindness our scholars perform here.
Supporting Learning at Home
Math: When your child is solving math problems ask questions such as: Why did you...? What can you do next? Do you see any patterns? Does the answer make sense? How do you know? This helps to encourage thinking about mathematics.
