Update on Coronavirus
Hello D103 Families,
Yesterday, the Chicago Tribune published an article reporting on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) update regarding the COVID-19 response in the United States. The article stated that schools should be prepared with alternative plans for instruction should the virus spread. As of this moment, no changes to our normal operations are being recommended for schools.
Since the announcement, the district has been in communication with the Regional Office of Education (ROE) regarding next steps. The ROE has been in contact with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and will be updating schools if there are any additional changes. In the meantime, the district is reviewing our procedures in the event we need alternative plans. We will keep you informed regarding this process and any changes that may occur.
As a reminder, the best way to keep yourself healthy for any sickness include:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
Avoid close contact with people who are sick
Stay home when you are sick
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
Additionally, the Illinois Department of Health released an update on the preventative steps they are taking to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we raise our Leaders in Learning.
Sincerely,
Scott Warren, Ed.D
