Institute Description & Overview

Target Audience: 5th Grade Science Teachers

Date: February 19-21, 2018* @ UVCC, Piqua, Ohio (*Attend one, two, or three days)

The MRESC is offering a three (3) day institute that will allow teachers to deeply explore each of the strands (Earth, Life, Physical) of the newly revised science standards for 5th grade. The sessions will also focus on the topics highlighted on the ODE Science Blueprint for the 5th grade assessment.

Each day will embed and share specific instructional resources and strategies that not only address content knowledge of the teachers but also shares and models high quality science instruction. Don't miss the opportunity to increase your science content knowledge and gain instructional strategies and resources to assist you in teaching the 5th grade science standards!

Teachers can choose to attend 1, 2, or all 3 days of the institute based on their individual needs.

Registration Fee

  • $120.00 for Shelby, Logan, Hardin, Madison and Champaign County Public Schools/Districts, Career Centers, and Boards of DD.
  • **>>Districts purchasing presenter contract (i.e. Curriculum Services with Dave Shellhaas, MRESC) may attend at no cost.

  • $170.00 for school districts outside of the above counties or other agencies/non-profits.

What time should I arrive at the training site? Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the check-in process.

Food & Beverage: Bottled water and assorted breakfast bars will be available at the beginning of each session. While coffee or other food will not be served, participants are free to bring snack items for themselves or to share with the group. Lunch will be on your own. Please plan accordingly…..

What You Should Bring? Participants should bring note taking materials and writing utensils with them to the session.

Our Cancellation Policy - Cancellations must be received 11 days prior to the day of the event. Cancellations receive outside of this policy will not be accepted. Attendees and/or employing districts will be billed accordingly.
