Winter Break Community Resources Lists
Duluth Public School buildings will be closed Wed 12/22 thru Mon 1/3 for Winter Break.
Our community is here to offer connection and support during this time. A list of resources including Crisis Lines, Youth Programs, Food Support and additional resources is available for those who need it.
Many thanks to Rachel Thapa and our community partners for compiling these resources.

Free COVID Testing Jan 3
Duluth Public Schools and Essentia Health are providing COVID testing for ISD 709 staff and students at two community sites after the upcoming Winter Break. Essentia will provide a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. This is not a rapid test, and it can take up to two days to get test results.
COVID testing is scheduled for Monday January 3, 2021 from 12Noon to 6:00PM.
East Side: Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd 1325 45th Ave. E, Duluth, MN
West Side: Asbury United Methodist Church - 6822 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN
To safe time, download and complete the following forms and bring them with you to the testing site:
Keep the Parent Pick up line moving.
- PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY - we are gettng large gaps between cars because people are not paying attention to the car in front of them. This slows the process way down. MN does have a hands free law.
- Be sure your family number is easily visible for the adult calling in numbers. The adult calling in the numbers should not have to step into the snow to read your number. Many numbers are sliding too far down the front windshield to be seen.
- If you have not picked up your student by 2:25 they will be brought to the office When you get to Congdon please park in the 15 minute spot and call the office to let them know you are here. 218.336.8825 ext 0.

PTA December Happenings
We have been making use of your wonderful One and Done donations. The school directories were printed and distributed to families last month.
The school ordered scholarship photo packages from Lifetouch. Lifetouch covered the cost of 13 and the PTA covered the other 13.
We have also approved funds for teachers to purchase items they need for their classrooms. Each classroom teacher, specialist, and interventionist will be given $175 to use.
Thank you again for your generosity. It allows us to do things like this, organize dinners and appreciation events for our teachers, and support our school and students.
Thank you to all of our volunteers so far and to everyone who has purchased items from our teacher wishlist. This will be ongoing as long as teachers make requests!
*All year long we have need for volunteers to help out during the lunch hour, especially during K & 1st grade lunches. You can stay longer if you have time. Sign up here.
*Also, all year long we will continue to update the teacher wish list. Check it out if you wish to see the list and/or donate an item to our amazing teachers.
Keep up with all your PTA! Check out all we are up to and become a member at our website today!
