Description
-has a distinctive snout has small teeth around it for helping getting food and protection
-it is a bottom dweller that lives in oceans and the mouths of rivers so in other words it can survive in both fresh and salt water
-it digs up crabs and other things from the sand on the floor or it uses it's nose to attack schools of fish
Efforts to save the species
-humans use the liver oil for medicine, the rostrum( the snout) for a fishing prize, and the fins are delicacies in some countries
-it is often mistake for a shark so it's meat might be sold under sharks meat
-overfishing has declined the number of smalltooths around the globe therefore it is protected by laws in many countries including Australia and the US
