Outdoor Lab update!!
Hello –
We are looking forward to outdoor lab and excited your student is attending.
Per the outdoor lab nurses, if your student has seasonal allergies, and you have not already submitted a doctor note with this information to our school nurse, Erika Townsend, we will need a doctor note stating your student has seasonal allergies, and what symptoms they have on file, for them to attend outdoor lab.
Due to Covid rules, if your student has symptoms while at outdoor lab, and we do not have a doctor’s note explaining the allergies, they will need to be picked up if they have any symptoms of illness, which often look like runny nose, congestion, cough, or other allergy symptoms.
Please return the note to the health room next week, or email to our school nurse,
Erika Townsend at Erika.townsend@jeffco.k12.co.us
Thank you,
Manning Outdoor Lab Team

Manning Learner Profile Completion
Attention Manning families: this Friday, your student is required to complete the final piece of the Manning Learner Profile for the year. The Manning Learner Profile is a document that is set up for your student to set yearlong goals and check ins for those goals. They have been instructed to complete the fall and winter portion already, so it is now time to complete the spring part. Please make sure your student has completed the Fall, Winter and Spring sections of the MLP. This is also a great time to reflect on the year and start to think about goals your student will set to be successful next year. The MLP can be found in the "classwork" tab of their respective class google classroom.
Google classroom codes:
6th grade: eeqsbpy
7th grade: e4gumaj
8th grade: 2miemhc
If your student has any questions, please have them reach out to their school counselor.

The 2021-2022 Carpool List is below and will be published on the website.

Families are responsible for arranging their own carpools.
NJHS
The Manning chapter of the National Junior honor Society (NJHS) is holding a homeless shelter drive for this upcoming week. We are collecting items to be donated to a homeless shelter. In particular, NJHS is asking for hygiene items, clothing, blankets, food, children’s toys and books, and other essentials that can be utilized at the shelter. There are boxes by the front door to donate the items during school hours. For our remote families, feel free to stop by the school and ring the doorbell to leave your donations outside.
Thank you in advance!

8TH GRADE CONTINUATION UPDATE
Continuation will begin with an 8th Grade Slideshow. We would love a TOTAL of one or two favorite pictures of your 8th graders (could be as babies, toddlers, middle schoolers, hanging with their friends, playing sports, or even singing in choir, etc.) If you're willing to share, please put them in the DROPBOX below
Deadline for submission is Friday, May 7.
On Thursday, May 27 at 6:00pm, our formal continuation ceremony will take place virtually; we hope you will log on and celebrate your 8th graders with your families and with our Manning community. How to access the Continuation Ceremony will come soon, it will be a YouTube Premier.
Also, as we know how important it is to give our incredible 8th graders the chance to say goodbye to one another before they head to high school, we have scheduled the 8th Grade Picnic at Maple Grove Park for Thursday, May 27 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Parents who have opted out of including your student in publications, please fill out the form below to opt in so we can use your student's photo in this ceremony video only. Thanks
Students will have an opportunity to submit a quote for their slide in the program during their ELA class.

Our final general meeting of the year will be on Thursday, May 20 at 9:00 am. Kari Gray will give a presentation starting at 9:30 about helping our students with transitions- school to summer, 5th to 6th, 8th to 9th, and covid specific considerations.
The PTA would like to give special thanks to Laura Velapoldi, for organizing an amazing Teacher Appreciation week, to all of the families who contributed to making this a very successful week, and to Liz Schneringer for the treats and fun for our awesome students yesterday afternoon! We’re so fortunate to have so many good-hearted people in our community, and we are sincerely grateful for your generosity!

Student Shout Out for HONESTY
Student Shout Out for EFFORT
Princess Michelle Agyei: She is putting in the effort to create healthy routines and habits and to be a successful student. Continue the great work, Princess!
Claire Charlson: She's doing great in school while also juggling so many extracurricular activities. Keep up the great work, Claire!
Student Shout Out for ACHIEVEMENT
The 7th graders: Persevering through creating their world maps in Social Studies. This can be a frustrating process given how detail-oriented it is, but already I can see the students walking away with new understandings of our world's geography. I especially appreciate the Mobile Mustang students for persevering through this. Keep it up, all!
Tessa Steinke: Tessa created and designed the website used for a historical record of some of our 6th and 8th Grader Covid-19 experiences the past year. She went above and beyond creating a Google Form for users to give feedback of how to improve it. The website is easy to use and interesting to look at. It was tested by all of my classes and she got rave reviews. This was a true passion project and she did far more than what she could have. Thank you Tessa! Here is a link to the website: Learning in the Time of Covid-19
Student Shout Out for RESPECT
Student Shout Out for TEAMWORK
Inaya Morris-Emery: For helping out her friends and teachers when they need it!
Kindred Alvarado and Clara Bailey: For teamwork; they have been coming in to help get things set up for the NJHS homeless drive every morning and always willing to help out!A MESSAGE FROM FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICES...
