April 12th, 2018 #Work Hard, Poupard!
Message from Mr. Ali
Dear Poupard Families,
I hope you all are enjoying the start to our Spring Break. This is a great opportunity for everyone to reenergize as we head into the home stretch of the school year. As you know, Poupard believes it takes a strong team of parents and educators to advance their child's learning. While we're on break, there are so many opportunities for your child to advance their learning. Simple ways a student can advance their learning is by reading and asking questions. Additional ways, you may assist your child's learning is by visiting a museum, asking about what they are learning at school and how they'll use it in real life, demonstrating how everyday activities connect to the learning at school.
With that being said, this week I encourage you to ask your learner:
What are they reading?
Where did the story take place?
What do you think is going to happen next in the story?
About how much money should I get back from the cashier?
What shape is this item? (boxes, fruit, cans, etc.)
If I have this many miles to travel and I'm driving this fast, when can I anticipate arriving at my destination?
When you struggling with a problem, how can you move forward?
Thanks for continuing to partner with Poupard in your child's learning!

Habit number 2 is Begin with the End in Mind. This habit encompasses goal setting. As we are nearing the end of this school year, many students are thinking about what will inspire them for the tomorrow as well as the next school year. Set goals, and also come up with at least three actions that will help you and your student reach those goals.
