Hellenistic Culture
The Hellenistic culture combined the Greek, Persian, Egyptian, and the Indian cultures. Alexander encouraged the Hellenistic culture when he had married a Persian woman and urged his soldiers to follow his example.
The Conquest of Greece
Alexander established his empire starting with Greece. Greece was given to him by his mother Olympias. Olympias outwitted the other wives and children and put Alexander on the throne.
The Conquest of Persia
In 334 B.C. Alexander planned and organized the forces he needed in order to conquer Persia. Alexander first victory against Persia was won at the Granicus River.
The Conquest of India
In 326 B.C. Alexander crossed the Hindu Kush into northern India. Alexander and his troops had their first time battling soldiers that rode on war elephants.
