In The Know
New Addition to the Lancer Family - Congratulations to Kirk Miller who has been hired to fill our Head Football coaching position as well as our PE/HE teaching position. Kirk comes to us from the Knappa School District up on the northern coast. Kirk has a strong teaching and coaching background and is excited to return to Eugene with his family. Welcome to the Churchill Family. We are excited to have you join us and inspire our football athletes.
The Churchill Library - will be closed on Thursday, 5/26 during periods 1, 2, and 3 to all students who are not participating in the Town Hall Symposium. Please plan ahead if you have a free period, need a book or want to print out something. The library will be open on Thursday, 5/26 before school, during lunch and regularly again in the afternoon. The library will return to regular hours on Friday. Thank you for your understanding.

Lane Community College - Free Summer Course
Eligibility Requirements
- Register for a course before the stated term deadlines
- Be a member of the high school or GED graduating classes of 2022 or 2023
- Be currently enrolled at an Oregon High School or GED program
- Complete a Tuition-free request form before the stated term deadline
What you need to know
- Tuition for one course is covered in full. Some courses may have materials, textbooks, or course fees that you will be responsible for along with standard student fees. Please see the class schedule for more information on additional course fees. Payment plans are available.
- There are ways to save more money including taking an OER class with free or reduced cost textbooks!
- Only tuition for your highest credit course will be subtracted from your Lane account at the end of Week 2.
- In-person classes or any class with an in-person activity will require a COVID vaccination or an approved exemption. A link to the form will be sent to your my.lanecc.edu email address. If you’ll only be enrolling in remote courses, and not making use of on-campus services, you do not need to provide proof of COVID vaccination or exemption.
- You’ll need to meet any prerequisites for the course you want to enroll in.
- You can earn a tuition-free course for spring or summer-not both. If you drop your course after the first week of spring term, you will not be eligible for the summer discount.
Deadlines
All of the Steps to Enroll including registration in ExpressLane, submitting the Tuition-Free Request Form and registration must be done by 11:59 pm on the following dates:
- Spring term: March 28
- Summer term (even if the course starts in July or August): September 2

All Ages- 1:00-2:30 p.m.
We will ensure access to all activities, snacks, drinks (for those who complete this form). Due to COVID restriction we have a maximum capacity of 50 families for each time slot. In order to ensure that we have enough food and activity items we are asking that you register everyone that will be in attendance.

We are also pleased to announce an essay contest that all middle and high school students in Lane County are eligible for through Lane AABSS partnership with LTD and our "Stop Slow Go" initiative. Essay contest submission is from Tuesday, May 17 to Monday, June 13, 2022, announcements of winners will take place on Friday, June 17, 2022. For contest information and rules visit here. A flyer for display has been attached as well.
