Ukrainian Crisis

How did the unrest in Ukraine begin?
1) The first one is a broken promise between the President and the citizens: President Viktor F. Yanukovych promised to integrate Ukraine with the Europe Union singing sweeping political and trade agreements. Later on he refused to sign.
2) The second conflict is that there is a lingering Cold War-era between Russia and the West for influence over countries in Eastern Europe still suffering from political and economic problems rooted in the Soviet area.
3) The third is the searing public outrage over the government's sometimes brutal response to the street protests that followed the president's about-face on ties with the European Union.
