POBMS Hawk Eye
Soaring to New Heights 2021-2022 Volume 3
Principal's Message
I recently watched the film Tomorrowland with my family. In it, a father tells his daughter the story of the wolf you feed. It struck me when I first heard it, and I wanted to share it with you all so that you might find something in it to share with your children. We all struggle with our internal 'wolves', and it is difficult to feed the wolf you want to strengthen. but it is a productive struggle, and one that strengthens us in the process.
THE WOLF YOU FEED
One evening an old Cherokee man told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
