A THANK YOU FROM GENIUS HOUR

The geniuses would like to thank teachers, parents, and community experts who participated so willingly with their timing experiments, interviews, and surveys over the last month. They greatly appreciate your time and your extremely valuable perspective. Thanks to your feedback, their class projects took on many different directions, and in doing so became a meaningful avenue of growth and learning for each group as they explored how to best use their ideas to positively impact their ICCS community.

TREASURES NEEDED

Pre-K is accepting toys for their classroom. While you are cleaning out closets and playrooms to make room for new Christmas toys, Pre-K would gladly accept gently used dramatic play items such as trucks, blocks, dolls, Legos, etc.

PHOTO CONTEST COMES TO AN END

Thank you for sharing your creative ideas and holiday decorating style by submitting photos of your festive fresh greenery creations.

The final winner of our photo submission contest is Katherine DeVillier! Thanks again to all the families and supporters who purchased ICCS Greenery this year.

CLASSROOM NEWS

YOU AND THE LAW

Judge Lilynn Cutrer taught theYou and the Law enrichment during the second nine weeks again this year. Judge Cutrer planned lessons covering topics such as citizen's rights and responsibilities, criminal vs civil cases, famous trials and much more! The 9-week course ended today with students holding a mock trial at the District Courthouse. We are beyond blessed to have Judge Cutrer's continued support. Thank you, Judge!

DIY

Middle School students in the DIY Enrichment spent the past nine weeks cooking & crafting. Students painted Saints for The Atrium, created Jessie Tree ornaments for an Advent Blessing and cooked up a storm making brownies, waffles, pizza (students made their own pizza dough), waffle maker sandwiches, fruit smoothies, pigs in a blanket and chocolate chip crescent rolls. The last two projects were ice cream cone Christmas trees and Christmas ornaments. Thanks to all the parents who sent in supplies that helped make this class a success!

HAND-BELLS SHOWCASE

Mrs. Jessen led the Middle School Hand-Bell Enrichment in a showcase performed for parents and students today. We are proud of their hard work this quarter and thank them for sharing their talent in the Advent Blessings and in today's musical treat!

INFLUENZA SEASON

With the flu season upon us, it is important to be aware of signs and symptoms. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention offers key facts about the flu along with prevention and treatment information. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PARISHIONER

As we near the end of 2018, all Immaculate Conception Cathedral families are reminded of what qualifies parishioners to receive subsidized tuition rates. The Cathedral parish has set the following criteria: to be officially registered with the Cathedral, to worship regularly by attending Mass and participating in parish functions and activities, and to offer financial support by contributing regularly. Families should check with the Cathedral office if they are unsure of their status. For more information, call the Cathedral office at (337) 436-7251.

GREAT JOB ELISE RAMCOURT
