JK Library
November 2016
Lots to be Thankful for!
November was a great month! It was short and sweet because we had Thanksgiving break, but that doesn't mean our students weren't reading! Over the break many students completed the PokeBook Go Reading Challenge!
We were also thankful for the opportunity to listen to one of the best storytellers in San Antonio and a great start to 1st grade Polar Bear research! Check out this month's highlights below!
Traveling Around the World with Storytelling
Sue Kuentz shared many great tales from many different places! She used music, student volunteers, string, puppets, and many more props to help her stories come to life.
Gotta Read em All!
Many students took on the challenge to read 5 books to earn a custom made Pokemon bookmark! The most popular bookmark was the pikachu bookmark!
1st Grade Polar Bear research
We used digital and print resources to learn about polar bears! Did you know that polar bears weigh between 700 and 1600 pounds?!? Or that they can swim about 60 miles! POlar bears sure are interesting!
