Dress Code reminders!
Here are the highlights:
- All outer garments (skirts, shorts, dresses, shirts worn over tights, etc.) are required to be no shorter than fingertip length. Spandex shorts and tights are allowed only with an outer garment that meets the fingertip policy.
- No see through materials, low cut dresses, low cut/see through shirts, etc.
- Tank tops are NOT permitted in grades 5-12.
- Hats and/or caps will not be worn during the academic school day.
- Visible body piercing, with the exception of earrings, is prohibited.
- Student dress or jewelry may not display information pertaining to profanity, obscenity, sexual connotations, ethnic slurs, death, tobacco, alcohol or other prohibited substances.

1. FFA – Future Farmers of America
NO PIGS HERE. Our FFA focuses mainly on agriculture and public service. For more information see Coach Rusty_Bookout@lagovista.txed.net.
2. Chi Omega
Christian-based club where students can support one another with day-to-day challenges and grow in faith together. Lara_Chapman@lagovista.txed.net has more information.
3. Beard and Mustache Club

4. Pre-Med Club

5. NHS – National Honor Society

12. Craft Club

13. Meet in the Middle
Meet in the Middle, a grant-funded outreach project, involves students of all ages and ability levels in activities that empower them to serve as agents of change in their schools and communities. Students participate side by side in service learning projects, leadership activities, and athletic training and competition. Contact Amanda_Hendrix@lagovista.txed.net to get involved.
14. Coalition of Clubs

LVHS is in the process of planning a Club/UIL Fair in the next month for all students to be able to learn more about these clubs and organizations.

We are offering the ACT on our campus this year! The first 50 students that sign up will be allowed to take the test here at LVHS on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. The cost is $56.50. I will be visiting junior and senior English classes next week with more information, practice guides, and registration forms.
We are also offering the PSAT for all freshmen and juniors on Wednesday, October 14, free of charge. Sophomores will be given the PSAT 10 on February 23, also free of charge.
