MP Middle Messenger
Week 7: 10/23/2020
Check out our AWESOME Students!
With a little more than two weeks left in the quarter, this newsletter is focused on showcasing student work. Despite our distance, the students of MPMS are producing some amazing work in their classes! Give them a look, a read, or watch their films. We are so proud of their efforts!
And lastly, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on November 2, from 2:30-6:00 pm. Be sure to check your email next week, as teachers will be reaching out with instructions on how to sign up for an individual conference. Each conference will be limited to a maximum of 10 minutes in order to provide as many opportunities for parents to meet their child's teacher as possible. If you would like more time or are unable to sign up, just contact the teacher and a meeting can be scheduled.
GoGuardian is Coming to MPMS!
As some of you might remember from MPE, GoGuardian is a software used by the school division to help teachers monitor student Chromebook screens and support students. Starting this weekend, GoGuardian will be coming to MPMS!
GoGuardian also is a monitoring service that monitors student activity throughout all hours of the day. As such, this is a reminder of good internet practices and digital citizenship that all Manassas Park students should be practicing whenever using our internet connected devices and our mpcs4learning.com accounts.
Teachers will also be able to access student computers to see their screen and support the learning of their students.
So be ready for something new (or familiar from previous school years) - next week!

If your child is experiencing any technology trouble, please email it.support@mpark.net. They will assist with any technology needs and repairs.

Story 1
Story 2
Roger and Anthony went into the woods looking for logs for the campfire but all of a sudden they heard a loud sound, It sounded like someone stepping on branches. Roger and Anthony looked at each other with a frightened look on their faces. They both went into the woods deeper and they were saying āHello, anyone thereā. After looking in the woods deeper a big black bear came out of nowhere and scared them. They both were scared to death and they stood there frozen and they couldnāt move a thing.
They stood there for five minutes and they didnāt have a single idea on what to do. Then they both moved slowly back to the campfire. When they both walked slowly the bear heard them and Roger and Anthony ran straight back to the campfire. They both went back, grabbed all their belongings and put them in the car. Everyone got into the car and drove back home.
All of sudden the bear popped up out of nowhere and they were frightened. The bear just stood there and he fell to the ground and everyone was so confused. They all got out of the car and went up close to the bear to check if he was ok. They were at the bear and they saw that he got shot in the back and they got scared so they started crying. They all pulled the bear on the side of the road to get him out of the way.
They drove off and went back home but Roger and Anthony were still scared and worried. Two hours later they got back home and took everything out of the car and unpacked everything. Anthony went back home feeling better. Roger unpacked his things laid on his bed and relaxed for a little and fell asleep. Next day came and everything was back to normal.
Story 3
It was getting kind of dark, but the two boys just kept going deeper and further into the woods until they saw a black figure looking at them. They got scared and started running away from the black figure. When they got back, they were tired. They stopped next to a big old tree and looked around to see if the black figure was still following them. They took a break and started running again until they saw the black figure in front of them. It was Rogerās dad. Then they heard screaming from far away. Roger's dad went to make sure that there is no danger. He told the boys to come with him so they donāt get lost again.
