Our Mission

Leestown Middle School is committed to engaging students in learning experiences that empower each with the tools for life-long success.

Summer Ignite Program

If you are interested in your child participating in Leestown’s Summer Ignite program, please complete this Registration Form by April 27. There are also paper copies available in the Front Office. Leestown’s Summer Ignite program will provide both remediation and enrichment and all students are invited to attend; however- space is limited!

The dates are Session 1: June 8-25, Session 2: July 6-23, and Session 3: July 26-30. Current 6th-8th grade students are invited to attend Sessions 1 and 2; and Session 3 is for incoming 6th graders only. The times are 9am-1pm. Transportation as well as breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Car Rider Information

We start our afternoon announcements at 3:50, so car riders will not exit the building until 3:55. If your child will be a car rider, it will be best to arrive at 3:55 or later.

For emergency purposes, we will need to leave lanes open in the front of the building the majority of the school day; therefore, we cannot allow access to the car rider line until after 3:30pm. Lanes will be blocked off until then. If you arrive in the parking lot before 3:30pm, you will need to find a parking spot until we open access to the car rider line.

When picking up your child in the car rider line, please follow the procedures below:

Afternoon student pick-up procedure --CAR RIDERS (Very Important Information) In order to facilitate an afternoon car rider pick up line that is safe and efficient, please follow LMS procedures for afternoon pick up:

If you will be picking up your child in a car, we will use two lines to load. For safety, we do not want students crossing traffic or walking into the parking lot unattended. We will have teachers that will supervise students as we stop traffic to safely load students into cars. If your child is not in your car or outside when we release the pick up line traffic, we ask that you pull back around and re-enter the pick up line. This allows the car pick up line traffic to keep moving. Thank you for your understanding!

Social Distancing

Everyone – employees, students, contractors and visitors – should attempt to maintain at least six feet of space between themselves and others whenever possible. This mitigation measure is known as social distancing and will be supported by modifications in hallway traffic patterns and furniture placement. If the physical space in the school does not allow for spacing students’ desks 6 feet apart, desks will be arranged to leave as much space as possible between desks. All desks will be arranged so students’ seats face the same direction. Hallway traffic patterns for class changes, arrival and dismissal will be modified to maximize physical distancing. Floors will be marked to indicate safe distancing. Students will remain six feet apart or as much as possible in line, in the hallways, in common areas, in classrooms and on school buses

SITE BASED DECISION MAKING COUNCIL Call for Nominations for Parent Representatives 2021-2022 school year: This Council determines school policy for curriculum, staffing, discipline, scheduling, instructional practices, extra-curricular activities and other matters pertinent to the operation of Leestown Middle School. "A parent SBDM Council member must be a parent, step parent, foster parent or legal guardian of a student attending the school during the council member's term of office. A parent is ineligible if he/she is an employee or a relative of an employee (father, mother, brother, sister, wife, husband, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, etc.) of that school or for the district central office, or a local school board member."

The terms of office are July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, and Parent Representatives are expected to attend meetings beginning July, 2021. Parent Representatives must complete a 6-hour training and submit a background check. If you wish to nominate yourself or someone else, or if you have questions, please contact janeconn98@gmail.com.

CHARGER TRACK boys placed FIRST overall on Wednesday!!! Below is a list of any team/individual that finished in the top 5 of an event. Amazing work by our track team!

CHARGER CHEERLEADING is back at it with plans to compete on May 1! Looking forward to big things from this team again!

CHARGER BASKETBALL will be offering open gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00PM-8:00PM, beginning this week! Open gym is for any student interested in playing basketball at Leestown for the upcoming school year. All of the same return to play protocols will be followed. Parents are not permitted in the school for open gym. Please drop your child off at 6PM with a mask and a water bottle, and pick them up promptly at 8PM. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Summer is a great time to get your child’s sports physical taken care of and sometimes those appointments take a while to get. Call today and get your child’s sports physical scheduled for this summer so that he/she is ready to go this fall! Remember that you will need a hard copy of the sports physical for EACH sport your child plans to participate in.
