CHHS Staff Appreciation
In this week's Panther Applause, we would like to recognize Ryan Evans. Coach Evans is in the Science Department at CHHS and teaches Chemistry and PAP IPC, and is the boys soccer and cross country coach.
"Coach Evans is very busy teaching chemistry and coaching both Cross Country and Soccer. He made time to give a quiz to a struggling student, even though he was out at the PAC. The student went to his soccer office and got his quiz taken, and is now passing again!"

Varsity:
CHHS Varsity started March where February left off with two wins: a 5-4 road victory against Richland in a thriller off 820 and a home win on Senior night against Denton 6-0
Running their unbeaten streak to 8, the Panthers started against the Royals with a Gabi Gipson blast on a Free Kick, followed by an Allie Love tally to take a 2-0 lead. Richland scored at the tail end of the first half to pull within 1.
The game took a wild twist immediately after halftime and Richland tied it within the first minute of play. The teams would each score to make it 3-3 and Allie Love and Alex Whitcraft scored to make it a 5-3 lead for CHHS. Richland pulled within 1 in the dying embers, but the Lady Panthers prevailed 5-4.
Friday March 4 was Senior Night for the 2022 Lady Panthers and CHHS feted 12 teammates in grand style with a 6-0 pasting of the Denton Lady Broncos extending their unbeaten streak to 9. A Senior heavy lineup started into a brisk wind for Heritage and the Lady Panthers took a 2-0 lead to halftime. When the sides changed for the 2nd half, the Lady Panthers ramped up their game and added 4 more goals to complete the scoring. Anna Sugg celebrated her birthday with a brace and was joined by solo goals from Ryleigh Adams, Olivia Belcher, Kaitlyn Makens and Alex Whitcraft. Alex also had several key assists in the game which cemented the Lady Panthers 2nd place position with just 3 games left to play in district.
Next week features two important road games with the team travelling to Denton on Tuesday to take on Denton Ryan and then out to Justin on Friday to take on Northwest.
JV:
JV was also victorious against Denton Ryan on Friday winning 3-1 with goals by #25 Sammie Wurst, #13 Natalee Noland and # 12 Brianna Salaices. Congratulations JV!
CHHS Men Soccer
The CHHS Mens Varsity Soccer team rocked the pitch this last week with an impressive 11 goals scored and 0 against! The Panthers beat Richland 5-0 and Denton 6-0. Rami Helou lead the scoring with 4 goals, Cade Ryan had 3 goals and 3 assists, Mohamed El Hassan had 2 goals, Juan Hernandez and Oliver Ortiz had 1 goal, Ivan Rodriguez had 2 assists and Alix Galais, Evan Bremauntz and Linus Pinilla had an assist. Goalkeepers Bryce Cottle and Logan Graves both recorded shutouts! The Panthers are currently sitting in 2nd place. The Panthers will be home on Tuesday March 8th against Denton Ryan as well as Friday March 11th against Northwest. Come on out and cheer on your Panthers!
