No School on Monday 9/5
Please remember there is no school on next Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day. We hope all our White Tiger families enjoy a safe and restful 3 day weekend!
Arrival/Dismissal Reminders
As we end our 2nd full week of school things are beginning to become more and more routine. Having said that, we would like to remind all our families of a few things to keep our arrival and dismissal running smoothly, and to keep our White Tigers safe.
- If you drop off or pick your child up at our car loop, please remember there is no turning left into the car loop, or when exiting onto Northland Rd. Right turn only please!
- When dropping off your child in the car loop please remember to pull all the way forward, stopping short causes traffic to back up on Northland.
- If possible, please have your child exit your vehicle on the passenger side for safety.
- At dismissal please please continue to have a sheet of paper with your child's name clearly visible so we can quickly and easily identify cars and students.
- There is no parking in the south parking (staff/visitor lot) lot during student drop off and pickup.
- During arrival/dismissal please leave space for our buses to get in and out of our bus lane on Northland.
- Finally, now that we have completed our first few weeks we would like to transition all families who walk their child to school to drop off and say their goodbyes at the door. For safety reasons, parents and guardians are not permitted to walk their child to class. If any of our white tigers are struggling during arrival we will have an adult staff, or 5th grade buddy help them find their way to their classroom.
Thanks, we greatly appreciate your efforts in helping our arrival and dismissal run smoothly and efficiently.
Start with Hello Week
Wilson Hill will join other Worthington elementary schools with participation in "Start With Hello" week. Start With Hello is an initiative started by the Sandy Hook Promise Organization aimed at creating connection and community among students with a goal of ending social isolation. Throughout the week of September 19th, Start With Hello programming in our school will promote student leadership in decreasing social isolation and increasing empathy, working toward a culture of inclusion and connectedness in our school. Below is an overview of themes for each day.

Previous Updates:
Circle of Grandparents
Circle of Grandparents (COG) is a character education program in Worthington Schools. With the support of Worthington Schools and the nonprofit Partners for Community and Character, senior volunteers use community-chosen qualities to teach students the importance of good character. Volunteers are needed!
The group would like to have a grandparent in each Worthington School elementary classroom. As a “Grandparent”, you can draw from your own life experiences and individual talents to teach concepts of character to your “adopted” class. No classroom or teaching experience is required, COG will provide support and materials to you through monthly, optional meetings.
You do not have to be an actual grandparent to participate, however, if you are a grandparent to a child in the Worthington Schools, you may request your grandchild’s class. Any “Grandparent” has the option to choose the school and grade level they wish to assist.
This is a wonderful opportunity that benefits all who are involved. Interested in learning more? Please contact Jim McElligott at jamestmcelligott53@gmail.com.
